DescriptionDrawing, using colored pencils on Arches paper, of what Ress found in a jar in the Mammalian Brain Lab, while she was an artist-in-residence at George Washington University. As she drew them, the brain parts began to look to her like landscape elements; there was a blue machine that she could see through the jar, so she included that bit of color, thinking of the sky. Once the drawing was finished, Ress downloaded a photo of deep space from the NASA website, made it into a vector file, and had it laser-cut across the entire surface of the paper.
