DescriptionTechnically, Santiago Flores Charneco’s artwork focuses on the use of visual languages that reflect the heterogeneous Caribbean region, based on the conceptual exploration of paintings as welded-‐surfaces or mosaic like structures. Although most of Charneco’s assemblages reflect a clear engagement with Western artistic currents and media, they nonetheless, speak strongly to issues of Caribbean identity, popular culture, and the renovation of a fragmented cultural archipelago.
