BiographyJodi Ferrier’s paintings start with a sense of urgency, an untamed desire to capture fleeting beauty. Sometimes the painting unfolds rather quickly, and other times the painting evolves through layers of seeking and meandering. It is through this spontaneous conversation that the painting moves beyond the resemblance of the initial objects to one that embodies optimism, hope and beauty.
Ferrier earned a BFA at Miami University and has been co-owner of Schwa Design Group since 1994. Her work resides in public and private collections across the country; she has exhibited regionally; and she has held residencies at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, Red Dirt Studios, and Gateway Arts Center.
