DescriptionThese quilts begin with a piece of “found” fabric, such as a dropcloth leftover from screenprinting sessions or a test cloth made while trying out various processes. These cloths represent a history of my work and have a quality impossible to duplicate. The colors and patterns set the tone and other fabrics are added without a particular plan in mind, until the composition seems complete. The large hand stitching, also unplanned, seems a logical conclusion.
