DescriptionLong known as a printmaker, Michael B. Platt later preferred the more encompassing designation, “imagemaker.” His artwork turned to digital explorations and book art combining images and poetry fragments. In their first collaboration, Platt and Carol A. Beane produced a book titled Forgotten Contours, which contained these pages. The Sea is a Bitter Memory was inspired by the story of Ota Benga, the Pygmy man who was housed at an American museum and zoo in the early 20th century.
