BiographyMy sculptures, created in clay, are then cast in either plaster, Winterstone, or Hydrocal on which I apply a bronze, metallic, or milk finish. Their organic and monumental quality could be considered maquettes for large outdoor pieces while at the same time stand alone as finished sculptures.
My emphasis is on the rhythm of the human form involving primarily family themes; when modified to greater abstractions a metamorphosis takes place. The concept of 'Simplicity of Form' and 'Integrity of Line' are always resounding in my mind as I engage in the creative process. The expression, 'Less is More' is so hard to accomplish. When I feel I have extracted the superfluous and reduced the form to its most elemental state, I know it is time to stop.
