Kenneth George
Kenneth George is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. The focus of his art ranges from recreational culture to adolescent behavior and how past experiences inform our understanding of our current environments. He aims to leave viewers with more than reflection, but also a sense of participation, contribution, and collaboration. Recent projects have focused on community engagement in highly public spaces and technology as a means of broad connection.
George has taught in the Falls Church City and Fairfax County Public Schools as well as at the George Washington University and Community of Hope, through Project Create. He undertook a project with Artlab at the Hirshhorn Museum that involved teens in maker culture and the creation of public artwork, and he spoke at the Luce Foundation at the Smithsonian American Art Museum on the intersection of art and video games. George holds an MFA from the George Washington University and a BFA from the University of Akron.
