BiographyBorn in Silver Spring, MD, and presently based in Washington, DC, John Grunwell is a multi-media artist and muralist with work in private and public collections throughout the United States and abroad. His Entelechies series deploys a painterly vocabulary of dynamic abstract formal effects including hard-edged radial geometries, converging lines, and pulsating colors. These combinations evoke the physical phenomena that have shaped our universe, such as the big bang, cosmic expansion, electromagnetic radiation, and gravitation. Grunwell received a BA in anthropology from the University of Maryland in 1998.
