Margery Goldberg

Margery Goldberg began sculpture classes at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery at the age of ten. She earned a BFA at The George Washington University and spent summers woodworking, sculpting, and silversmithing at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In 1973, she was one of the first females in America with a complete woodworking studio. For over 45 years, her obsession with the medium has not waned. She works in exotic and domestic hardwoods, both carving and laminating.

Goldberg has exhibited widely throughout the US, and her works are held in collections in New York and DC. She is also an active curator in the DC region and participates in numerous local arts organizations and boards. Goldberg is the founding director of the Zenith Gallery, which opened in 1978.
