DescriptionFollowing a long, successful career as an atmospheric scientist, Josh Holland turned his focus fully to art in 1981. He produced landscapes, portraits, and studio figures, then took to the streets of DC. Sketchbook and camera in hand, he made studies of pedestrians around 14th Street, Union Station, and Dupont Circle and then produced drawings and paintings of the people he had observed. In addition to his series of pedestrians, Holland produced paintings of individuals engaged in conversation.
