DescriptionLinear Equation #12 is one of four paintings in a series that helped the artist relive the energy of a recent trip home to Australia. The work is an abstraction of a warm breeze filling the sails of yachts and the joy of sharing fabulous food and wine with family. Inspired by the color field artists of the 1940’s, Ruksenas-Burton departs from using illustration as a storytelling tool and instead leans on the expressive power of color to connect the sensory with the emotional.
