DescriptionTatiana Gulenkina produced this image as part of a series of camera-less prints, or photograms, titled Innocence. To make these pictures, she placed discarded organic and man-made materials on photo-sensitive paper in a color darkroom. The choice of materials was inspired by Arte Povera, a 20th-century art movement that explored unconventional processes and everyday materials. Gulenkina relied on this mode to focus on awareness of natural symbolism and environmental forces silently present in daily life. The title of the series refers to the state of nature: not purity or lack of experience, but the presence of grace.
