DescriptionGulenkina chose to produce these images with the cyanotype process—which uses iron salts rather than silver salts to produce a blue print—because of the immediacy of the process and the texture of paper. She subjected the prints to natural elements to play with materiality of the medium and the susceptibility of photographic memories. For this project, she attempted to penetrate the invulnerability of male subjects before a female photographer. Yonas Hassen is a local street/documentary photographer.
