DescriptionShot from a lake in rural New Hampshire, these photographs document all the various ways in which someone can enter the lake. Based at the heart of the town, the lake nods to a different and slower way of doing things as speedboats, jetskis, and other modern and fast modes of recreation are prohibited. In capturing these entrances, Silverthorne spent several weeks kayaking around the lake shooting with a film camera. The project simultaneously examines public vs. private space (town beaches vs. private boathouses, etc.) while reflecting on ways to move through the space. In today’s hyper-technological world, what do we miss when our biggest concern is getting from point A to point B as fast as possible?
