DescriptionThis video was created during 2013-2014 when Dawn Whitmore was regularly visiting with the residents of the Arthur Capper Senior Center. During this time she became acquainted with many of the residents living there and their families. She was amazed and touched at the deep sense of community that became apparent during parties and day to day life. Many of the residents had lived for decades in Washington, DC and seen many changes in the city, including the Navy Yard area which is where the Capper Center is located. The singing audio in the video is by one resident of the Capper Center, Mrs. Betty House.
