DescriptionNestor Madalengoitia painted a series of murals for the hospital with the goal of giving patients “the visual channel to imagine themselves living outside of the hospital when they are released.” His peaceful settings, all of which are specific to Washington D.C., include picturesque landscapes, gardens, and activities going on in the streets. Different technical aspects, such as the wide spectrum of soft colors and the curved shape at the top, are all intended to give the viewers a sense of comfort.
