DescriptionWayson Jones’ work relates to the elemental themes of earth, sky, planets, childhood, bodies and decay. He is guided by both the materials he uses and a connection to his deeper self. To describe his motivation, Jones recalls a night when he was six years old and, wandering out of his grandmother’s country home late at night, saw the Milky Way filling the sky. The awe-struck feeling of this moment, the qualities of ancient vastness and wonder that he witnessed, continue to inspire his work.
