DescriptionIn her work, Anna U Davis examines social inequalities and gender relations. Beauty Between the Cracks, produced during the Covid-19 pandemic, is an abstract portrayal of an urban scene, a concrete jungle. Cramped inside the buildings are the people society has left behind, the neglected individuals who deserve to have all the possibilities of a good life. The piece was created in Davis’ recognizable style, combining acrylic paint, ink drawing, pumice gel, and hand cut paper into a complex, layered collage.
