DescriptionThis scene, familiar to commuters entering Georgetown via Key Bridge, includes both the iconic spires of Georgetown University and the Washington Canoe Club down at the edge of the Potomac River. Lindley began with a pencil drawing on site, standing on the pedestrian walkway. From the sketch, Lindley’s memories of the feel of the view, and reference photographs, he developed the full watercolor painting as a demonstration for a class.
