DescriptionThis piece is designed by hand cutting various shapes of colored glass and then placing them together on a clear glass base. The movement of the shapes combined with the intense colors, and what could be seen as part of instruments or floating keys located throughout the piece reminds one of hearing jazzy music. Once the piece is laid out on the clear base, it is full fused in a kiln. After the first firing, the piece is then placed on a mold and fired to a lower degree to “slump” into the mold and take a shape.
