DescriptionAs a youth, Michael Crossett developed photographs using traditional darkroom methods, which involved the mystery and excitement of watching and waiting for images to appear on paper. To recreate a similar feeling of wonder in the world of digital photography, he makes silk screens. First, he photographs familiar neighborhood sights and historic locations in the District. Then, he layers the images as he transfers the photographs to silk screens. Crossett has spent years capturing and interpreting the changing landscape of DC neighborhoods and culture, with a nod to street life, architecture, and graffiti.
