DescriptionWith few exceptions the primary focus of Ms. Watson’s work is the Black American experience. Her work is a visual snapshot of various aspects of Black life. However in the painting “Iraq” the artist felt compelled to honor the lives of all soldiers because of the losses suffered in the conflict. This is reflected in the ethnic diversity of the soldiers in the painting.
