DescriptionIn another series of text-based works, Boyd has used geometric shapes and symbols, such as angles, a pentagram and the Buddhist wan-zi to provide another layer of signification to coexist with Boyd’s sentences on art theory, language and semiotics. This chalkboard work from 2005, “Within a system,” introduces an angular shape, subtly suggested through Boyd’s tape bisection process, which shares the conveyance of meaning with his text.
