DescriptionFrom 1995 to 2002, Marchand produced her Cityscape series from, which came about from observation of the lyrical quality of city architecture. She made pictorial composition in geometric shapes, inspired by rooftops, windows and structures. She has also worked with arts projects that focus on revitalizing local communities and neighborhoods in Washington, DC.
“California Street” is a view of neighborhood rooftops in the Kalorama neighborhood, Washington, DC. From a narrow alleyway, the geometry of architecture builds and reaches upwards toward the heavens.
