My career as a photographer emerged from the chemical darkroom culture where commitment, dedication and inspiration was the order of the day. To produce a tangible body of work designed to engage the viewer while preserving the conventional principles of photography has always been the goal. Digital photography has pushed the parameters quite a bit enabling new comers to participate in the process of image making while for others extending the realm of possibilities looking to redefine their vision and expand the esthetic. I have developed a sensibility towards light, tone, texture and the unseen by emphasizing tactile and luminous quality of the elements within the photographic composition. Over time I have pursued a commitment to the craftsmanship, aesthetics and philosophies of lessons learned in the darkroom while bridging the gap between conventional film capture and digital imaging. Recent accomplishments of funding from the Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council and commission art installation for the MGM National Harbor provides encouragement and support to explore and refine bodies of work relevant to my visual expression.
