Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu
Born in Washington, DC, to Nigerian immigrant parents, Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu spent his early years between DC and Nigeria. His work shows that he has been greatly influenced by his Nigerian-American culture. Osuchukwu graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts, received his BFA from Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, DC, and completed his MFA at Maryland Institute College of the Arts (MICA) in Baltimore. His work has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the Showcase of The Montgomery County, MD, Chapter of The Society, Inc., which helped in the building of his resume and fostering his success as a young artist. Osuchukwu has been featured in Oprah Winfrey’s magazine, and his pieces reside in the personal collections of Peggy Cooper Cafritz and Bill and Melinda Gates. In 2017, he was appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser as a Commissioner of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. Osuchukwu is an accomplished teacher who has been teaching visual art in Washington, DC, area schools for over twenty years. Osuchukwu is also the founder and CEO of an arts education and portfolio development program. He has also been an invited artist, speaker, and judge to conferences on the arts by the NAACP, Genentech (on the launch of a shoe for a new cure for Hemophilia), and the National Hemophilia Foundation, where he inspires kids who have a bleeding conditions.
