Ellington Robinson
DC native Ellington Robinson received a BFA from Morehouse College and an MFA from the University of Maryland. He also studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Paris. Robinson has had solo shows, group shows, and performances throughout the US, Denmark, and the US Virgin Islands. His work has been published in journals and books, including Fired Up! Ready to Go!: Finding Beauty, Demanding Equity: An African American Life in Art and “At the Crossroads: Beat of a Different Drum,” The Untold Stories of African Americans Forging Their Own Paths in Work and Life. Robinson has received numerous fellowships; served on arts committees at the Phillips Collection, Hillyer Art Space, and the District of Columbia Arts Center; undertaken residencies in St. Croix, Miami, and Chicago; and taught at American University and Montgomery College.
