Greg Hannan
Born in Washington, DC, Greg Hannan spent decades dividing his time between DC and two locations in Nova Scotia: an island in the mouth of the Bay of Fundy and a farm in the Annapolis Valley. In 2004 he became an Irish citizen, and in 2013 he left DC altogether to maintain permanent residence in Nova Scotia.
Hannan has undertaken residencies at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, County Monoghan, Ireland; National Sculpture Factory, Cork, Ireland; and Sirius Arts Centre, Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. He has received grants and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts; Est-Nord-Est, Ste. Jean Port Joli, Quebec; Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation; and Pollock-Krasner Foundation. His work has been exhibited throughout the US and in Canada, Germany, China, Singapore, and Indonesia.
