Michal Hunter

Michal Hunter was born and reared in Hollywood, FL. She earned her BFA in

photography from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and her MFA in painting from Florida State University, Tallahassee. She is best known for her life-size paintings of people and her portraits. Her work has been exhibited in over fifty exhibitions, including one-person shows at Frasers’ Stable Gallery; Diane Brown Gallery; Montgomery College; PASS Gallery; and the Washington Arts Club. Awards include Franz and Virginia Bader Fund Grant and Artist’s Grant and Residency, Vermont Studio Center. She has lived and worked in Washington, DC, since 1976.
