BiographyDrawing on the work of Edward Hopper and Thomas Eakins, Brett Busang paints the realities of urban environments, often including empty lots, facades, row houses, bridges, and industrial sites. Around Washington, DC, he observed neighborhoods in transition, such as Gaithersburg, MD; Brentwood/Mount Rainier, MD; and Brookland in Washington, DC. Busang has exhibited at the Museum of New York City, the Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY; and the Greenville (NC) Museum of Art. His paintings have been collected by corporations including Capital One, Krispy Kreme, Media General, Wheat First Union, as well as private individuals across the country. His writing has appeared in American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, American Art Review, the New York Press, and New York Newsday.
