Michael Berman

Michael Berman holds a BFA from the University of Maryland and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He regularly shows and sells his work at historic Eastern Market in DC and exhibits at other venues along the East Coast. He has been active in preserving artists’ studios in DC. He is President of the Downtown Artists Coalition, established to preserve and foster artists’ studio spaces in Washington. He is also an active member and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Committee of 100 on the Federal City. Berman curates exhibitions and is the co-founder of the art organization Project BRASAS and the inter-disciplined artists’ collective CAOS (Coalition of Artists on the Shore), based in Cambridge, MD. He is also Managing Director of Arts Enterprises LLC. In this position, he is active in promoting and creating new opportunities for artists to acquire real estate and flourish in the District.
