Jennifer Barlow

Jennifer Kahn Barlow paints food. She is inspired by vibrant, texturally dynamic and unique cuisine, which leads to much of her subject matter being of confectionaries, the gooier and more colorful the better.

Barlow shows her work throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Her 2016 solo exhibition, Capital Palette, at Strathmore (Rockville, MD) focused on DC’s fabulous dining scene and its notable landmarks. Barlow has been featured in the Washingtonian and Professional Artist magazines. Her paintings reside in the collections of the District of Columbia Art Bank, Cookology Culinary School (Arlington, VA) and numerous private collections.

Barlow grew up in a food-loving family in the Boston suburbs, obtained a BA from Skidmore College, and has called Washington, DC, home since 1999. She currently seeks inspiration from grocery stores and pastry shops in the DC region, while working out of her home studio in Potomac, MD.
