Tim Davis
Tim Davis is widely recognized for his use of mixed media and exploring different narratives with graphite, sculpture materials, acrylic, photography, pen and ink, and collage. His utilizes themes that represent interactions between stylized figures, mysterious portraits and unconventional environments, and the narratives are designed so the viewer becomes part of the visual conversation or dialogue presented. His concern has always been the human experience and the black experience.
Davis was born in Chicago, IL, and resides in Washington DC. He received his MA from the University of Illinois, where he studied with artists Frank Gallo and Bill Carlson. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including in Columbia, South America; St. Petersburg, Russia; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Chicago, Miami, New York and the Washington, DC, area. He has many paintings in private and corporate collections including Freddie Mac Corporation, Stellar Communications, University of Maryland University College, University of Illinois Cultural Center, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Martha's Table, Community of Hope and The Diane Whitfield-Loce collection.
Davis is the founder and owner of International Visions Gallery and Consultants, where he promotes and provides contemporary multi-cultural original works to museums, private collectors, and art enthusiasts. He is committed to encourage cross-cultural exchange with diverse collections of artists from the Washington area and under-represented parts of the world.
