DescriptionIn 1987, Judith Peck began embedding plaster shards into her oil paintings to reference her grandparents’ immigration to America; the shards represent the broken world they left behind but always carried with them. As her work developed, she took a more universal view of human history. She aims to express that all people, in all times and places, have the same hopes and dreams, and to convey how, despite our rifts, we might experience healing in a broken world. In Seed of Change, she suggests that one small, hopeful start can inspire great change.
