DescriptionRoderick Turner paints views observed while living in Southeast DC. He interprets his surroundings through experiments with color, materials, and techniques, while documenting the significant revitalization and gentrification that impacts the District. In this artwork, painted while confined to his balcony and window during the Covid-19 pandemic, Turner focuses on built structures, and he includes the crane that is ubiquitous to many of DC’s ever-changing neighborhoods.
