DescriptionThis artwork is at Parkside Community Park, located within a newly built neighborhood in Washington, DC. Situated next to the Minnesota Ave Metro Station, this park features rain gardens and permeable paver systems to reduce the impact on the nearby Anacostia River. The title is both a symbolic reference to the power of community and its leaders to transform a previously underutilized space into a thriving neighborhood, as well as a reference to the city’s football team, which has served as a unifying force for the city’s citizens for many decades.
