DescriptionThis photograph comes from a series of pictures Max Hirshfeld shot of individuals in museums: looking, posing, resting, even checking their phones. Like many of them, this was taken at the National Gallery of Art, here in DC. In it, a woman draped in white and pink stands between two paintings by Italian artist Canaletto: The Square of Saint Mark’s, Venice, and Entrance to the Grand Canal from the Molo, Venice, both painted in 1742/1744.
