DescriptionMartin Kotler painted this work which was part of a larger series of “Alley” paintings, using the color and shapes of sights and sites found within Washington’s, Capitol Hill. The contrast between colors was the first inkling of painterly possibilities and the unique array of shadows and subtle security bars, air conditioners, and TV antenna’s give insight as to “who we are” and “when and where”. These are some of the thoughts that guide this painter.
