DescriptionThe prints in “Night Swimming” series are about remnants of things—bones, husks, empty seedpods and vessels. Title refers to dreaming, to the idea of nocturnal sorting out of our lives and our world. Softic is fascinated by the fluid interchange of distant past and recent events, people we lost or never met before, places we thought we forgot and images conjured up by places we have seen and built up into places we have never been to. The humor, the pathos, the brooding is all ours.
This print is formatted somewhat like a page in old-fashioned botanical book. What would herbarium of our dreams look like, how would we organize it? What would come to the surface and what would fade in the background?
