Eglon Daley

Born in Jamaica, Eglon Daley studied at Montgomery College in Takoma Park, MD. His Of the People mural was commissioned for the lobby of One Judiciary Square in 1994 and completed in 1995. Daley’s paintings, and the related prints, reflect the character of the city: a broad range of ethnic backgrounds, occupations, and ages are represented, highlighting the city’s diverse population. The scenes blend everyday activities in the District’s vibrant urban environments with the activities that take place within the government facilities. Daley has exhibited throughout the Washington region and in Lyon, France. His work resides in private collections throughout United States, Jamaica, Germany, and Spain, as well as the permanent collection of Washington Convention Center.
