DescriptionThe DC Latino Festival began in 1972 in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood and moved further downtown in 2012. Now taking place on Pennsylvania Avenue and called Fiesta DC, it is the largest Latino festival in the District, including a parade as well as entertainment and food from a variety of cultures. In this photograph, Day captures the vibrant colors and smiling faces of a troupe of dancers that enlivened the celebration during its early years in Mt. Pleasant.
