DescriptionDC8 Totem Poles will consist of 8 abstract totem poles symbolic of the 8 wards in DC.  Each pole recounts crucial historical and cultural elements within the wards and include actual testimonies from DC residents. This is an ancestral-inspired totem pole. There are various faces emerging from the natural bark design. The log is elevated to create the illusion of rising. The piece shows the relationship of the city to Rock Creek Park.
