DescriptionMount Vernon Triangle, once an area described as “seedy,” has become a newly developed and sought-after area. Local developers selected artist David Black to create a sculpture at City Vista which would help reflect the character of the surrounding neighborhood as well as generate and reinforce a sense of place within the community. This sculpture, which was completed in 2010, is based directly from the artist’s participation and experience in the annual DC Kite Festival. The design of the sculpture reflects the emotional up lift that continues to impact the community.
